Alicia Minshew (born May 28, 1974) is an American
actress. She is best known for portraying
Kendall Hart on the daytime drama
All My Children.
Early life and career
Alicia Minshew was born in
Plantation, Florida. Her mother is of
Italian descent. Having aspirations to become an actress, Minshew set out for the career path some time after graduating from South Fork High School in
Stuart, FL.
In 2002, Minshew landed the role of
Kendall Hart on the daytime drama
All My Children. She first stepped into the role in January 2002, after the character's seven-year absence from the soap opera following the exit of
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who had previously portrayed the character.
In 2004 and 2005, Minshew portrayed Kendall in brief appearances on the daytime drama
One Life to Live as part of
the infamous baby-swap storyline.
Minshew recently signed a new contract with the show after rumors of her possible departure from
All My Children began circulating. Minshew dispelled the rumors, stating she was very happy with the show and was merely trying to establish a new work schedule to accommodate her upcoming marriage to her fiancé, Richie Herschenfeld. Minshew will be taking a two month hiatus from the show, and is in the process of pre-taping scenes out of their normal sequence so that Minshew will not be off-screen for her entire two-month hiatus. This also coincides with the return of
Eden Riegel to
All My Children as
Bianca Montgomery, who will fill the void left by Kendall's temporary absence.
In addition to her acting, Alicia has a series of workouts featured at pumpone.com in which she is demonstrating exercises to be featured on iPod's, and other video mp3 players. The workouts were designed by her personal trainer Louis Coraggio.
Personal life
Minshew is married to Richie Herschenfeld, a New York City restaurant owner, who is also the best friend of her on-screen husband
Thorsten Kaye.
