TV comedy-drama. It was created by
DeAnn Heline and
Eileen Heisler for

executive producer alongside
showrunner Oliver Goldstick.
The pilot was directed by
Gary Winick.

The show premiered on February 7, 2008 as a midseason replacement taking over
ER's spot at 10:00PM Eastern/9:00PM Central.
[NBC applying 'Lipstick' in 'ER' space] The series will also be broadcast on
Living in the UK and
7 Network in Australia.
The show was originally slated to have 13 episodes. However, due to the
2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, only 7 episodes were produced. It competed indirectly with
ABC's
Cashmere Mafia, created by Bushnell's former creative partner from
Sex and the City, Darren Star.
On February 24, 2008, NBC ordered six additional scripts of
Lipstick Jungle.[NBC adds more 'Lipstick' - Entertainment News, TV News, Media - Variety]
On April 2, NBC renewed
Lipstick Jungle for a second season after they announced their Fall 2008 lineup. The show will air its second season at 10:00PM Eastern/9:00PM Central on Wednesdays. The second season premiered on September 24.
One month later, NBC announced that
Lipstick Jungle would move to Fridays effective October 31 of that year. On
November 13,
NBC canceled the show. The series will remain on the network's Friday night schedule for the immediate future.
