Oh, Ashley, if you see something for theatre which says union, you would have to join Equity the theatrical union based in NYC for Broadway. If you want to play dinner theaters or Vegas you join AGVA, the American Guild of Variety Artists, no one can play Vegas without being AGVA, which I was, but no longer desire working there. When you join a union, it is your parent and as you become members of other unions, you pay only half dues to them, Alexiy |

Hi Ashley, you may submit photos and resume to anything non-union. SAG or Screen Actors Guild is a closed union governing all film and most evening TV. To get SAG you must do 3 SAG extra parts and pay their dues, or audition for a real role and the producer must see 25 SAG people, then if she/he wants you, they pay a hefty fine and you are Taft-Hartleyed into SAG, the most prestigious union for Hwd. AFTRA Am Fed of TV and Radio Artists governs daytime TV, you can join any time, hope this helps. |
